Iyana Brown scored 25 points to lead the Fruitport girls basketball team to a 41-35 win over a winless but inspired Orchard View squad in Lakes 8 action on Friday.
Fruitport improved to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Orchard View dropped to 0-10 and 0-6.
Amari Brown paced the Cardinals with 19 points.
SPRING LAKE 49, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 19 – Spring Lake used a dominant defensive effort, allowing only 11 points in the first three quarters. The Lakers (12-2, 5-1) were led by Reiko Johnson with 14 points and Remi French with 12 points. The Crusaders (6-6, 2-4) were led by Liz Isom with 8 points.
LUDINGTON 35, FREMONT 21 – Ludington’s strong defense forced 25 Fremont turnovers. The Orioles (7-6, 5-1) were led by Kristen Reidenbach with nine points, while the Packers (3-8, 1-5) were led by Anna Patenge with six points.
