Jake Palmer nearly revived Hesperia’s chances on Wednesday, scoring 14 of his 19 points, including four triples, in the fourth quarter.
But his efforts fell short as the Panthers dropped a 43-36 decision to Lakeview in Central State Activities Association action.
The Panthers, now 7-4 overall and 3-2 in league play, led 9-6 after one quarter and trailed 16-13 at halftime. They put themselves in a hole by failing to score in the third quarter.
Nathan McKeown chipped in eight points for the Panthers and Mark Workman pulled down 10 rebounds.
