The Muskegon Lumberjacks shook up their roster earlier this week by trading their captain, but so it has not brought positive results.

LSJ Logo incertThe Lumberjacks fell to the Lincoln Stars 2-1 on Friday night at the Ice Box in Lincoln, Nebraska. They are now winless in their last three games.

Muskegon dropped its record to 14-16-4 on the season, good for 32 points and last place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference standings. The Lumberjacks are 14 points back of fourth-place Youngstown for the final playoff spot.

The Jacks closed their three-game road trip with a 0-2-1 record. They will return home to host the Bloomington Thunder next Friday and Saturday night.

The Stars opened the scoring with a goal from William D’Orsi at the 13:57 mark of the first period.

Muskegon’s Nathanial Kallen tied the game at 1-1 with a power play goal at 12:25 of the second period. Will Graber and newcomer Lucas Michaud assisted on the tally.

D’Orsi gave the Stars a 2-1 lead with a power play goal at the 18:03 mark of the second period.

Lincoln goaltender Peyton Jones picked up the victory, stopping 28 of 29 Lumberjack shots.

Goaltender Joey Daccord stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Lumberjacks.
