The Mona Shores girls basketball team was not happy with its showdown loss to Muskegon last week, and the Sailors took it out on Grand Rapids Union with some incredibly stingy defense on Friday.LSJ Logo incert

The Sailors held the Red Hawks to four points in the first quarter, none in the second and onloy three points in the second half, leading to a 59-7 victory in O-K Black Conference action.

Mona Shores improved to 7-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference. Union fell to 1-6 and 0-2.

Jordan Walker paced the Sailors with 19 points, seven rebounds, and six steals. Alyza Winston added 15 points and six steals in the winning effort.
