The Shelby boys basketball squad beat Montague 78-72 in a West Michigan Conference game on Thursday.
The Tigers jumped out to a 48-36 lead at halftime.
Montague (5-6, 2-6) cut its deficit to three points, outscoring the Tigers 23-14 during the third quarter, but Shelby maintained its lead with a 16-13 fourth quarter advantage.
The Tigers, who are now 9-2 on the season and 6-2 in league play, were led by Jeff Beckman with 23 points while Danny Beckman added 22.
Merritt Hamann had a game-high 27 points for the Wildcats and pulled down six rebounds, while Jacob Buchberger had 22 points.
