Grand Haven started off hot, outscoring West Ottawa 22-14 in the first quarter, to lead them to a key 61-51 home win over rival West Ottawa Friday night.

Forward Jason Long scored 17 points to lead Grand Haven, while Drew Hewitt scored added 14 and Ross Koella had 11. Tyler Bosma led West Ottawa with 17 points and Jake VanTubbergen chipped in 11.

LUDINGTON 55, FRUITPORT 38 — The Orioles silenced the home crowd at Fruitport from the start, jumping out to a 18-4 lead after one quarter and rolling to a big Lakes Eight Conference victory. Fruitport trimmed its deficit to 31-21 at the half, but the Trojans couldn’t put together a second-half rally. Zach Schoon had a big game for Ludington with 17 points and nine rebounds. Joshua Laman added 11 points and Joshua Laman totaled nine points, four assists and four steals. Fruitport forward Zac Miller had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Antonio Flores added 11 points and nine rebounds.

MONA SHORES 73, REETHS-PUFFER 31 – Mona Shores jumped out to a 17-2 first-quarter advantage and didn’t look back. The Sailors (8-11, 3-7) were led by Kobe Burse with 19 points and 18 rebounds, while Armund Gordan led the Rockets (0-16, 0-9) with 14 points.

GRAND RAPIDS COVENANT CHRISTIAN 50, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 39 – Western Michigan Christian failed to get the offense going and ultimately fell short. DeMonta Bartee led the Warriors (4-12) with eight points, while Cam Waller had seven points.

LAKEVIEW 67, HESPERIA 49 — The Panthers were outscored by a decisive 22-9 margin in the third quarter and fell to Lakeview in a Central State Activities Association Silver Division contest. Hesperia trailed by just a 30-24 score at the half. Traxton Gordon led Hesperia with 17 points, while Jake Palmer contributed 13 points.
