The Fruitport Calvary Christian boys basketball team defeated Holland Black River 54-49 in an Alliance league game on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Eagles, who improved to 5-9 on the season and 3-5 in league play, were led by Will Dukes with 23 points.

Alec Cammenga added seven points, nine rebounds and seven steals, while Zeri Zelenka chipped in with nine points.

OAKRIDGE 57, HART 32– Oakridge (9-4, 7-3) grabbed the lead early and never looked back against the Pirates (2-10, 0-10) in a West Michigan Conference game. Brady Luttrell led the way for Oakridge with 13 points. Garrett Eisenlohr scored 13 points for Hart.

GRAND RAPIDS COVENANT CHRISTIAN 58, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 31 – The Warriors tied the game 15-15 after the first quarter, but struggled the rest of the way. Daniel Ray led WMC with eight points.

MORLEY-STANWOOD 68, HESPERIA 66 (2 OT) – Hesperia’s Traxton Gordon sent the game into overtime with a 3-point shot at the end of regulation. But the Panthers’ luck ran out at the end of the second overtime when they missed a potential game-winning  half-court shot, giving Morley-Stanwood the victory. Gordon finished with 24 points to lead the Panthers, while Mark Workman added 17 point and 19 rebounds.

KENT CITY 57, HOLTON 36 – Kent City went on a 21-6 third quarter run to cruise past the Red Devils. The Eagles (8-5, 6-1) were led by Fraser Wilson with 20 points while Chase Freeland added 16.
