The Mona Shores girls basketball team overcame an early deficit to beat West Ottawa 63-41 on Tuesday night.

The Sailors trailed 19-16 at halftime before going on a 22-12 third quarter run to take a seven-point lead heading into the fourth quarter.LSJ Logo incert

Jordan Walker paced the Sailors with 19 points, 12 rebounds, five assist and four steals.  Alyza Winston added 19 points, while Shamara Tumblin had 11 points and seven rebounds.

West Ottawa’s Caya DeWitt had 10 points.

FRUITPORT 36, CEDAR SPRINGS 34 — Fruitport (11-2) narrowly escaped with a road win over Cedar Springs (6-7) Tuesday night. After trailing the Trojans by seven at halftime, the Redhawks nearly came back for the win, but missed a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds. Iyana Brown led Fruitport with 21 points, while Alyssa Veihl added eight. Aaliyah Sargent scored 12 points to lead Cedar Springs.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 52, ORCHARD VIEW 25 — The Warriors stormed out to a 35-8 halftime lead and never looked back against the Cardinals. Cassie Kingma led WMC with 17 points while Aurbrey Goorman added eight. Mari Brown paced the Orchard View offense with 13.

GRAND HAVEN 41, HUDSONVILLE UNITY CHRISTIAN 33 – The Bucs’ were led by Alli Keyser with 18 points, while Hanna Rinkevicz added a career-high 10 points and five rebounds.
