The West Michigan Lake Hawks broke open a close game in the second and third quarters Sunday and defeated the Lansing Sting 141-94 in ABA action at LSJ Logo incertFruitport High School.

The game was tied 27-27 after one quarter, but West Michigan took control with a 44-25 advantage in the second quarter and a 43-31 edge in the third.

Aaron Davis had a huge night for the Lake Hawks, setting a team record by hitting 10 shots from 3-point range. He finished with 39 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists.

Josh Langford added 18 points and 11 rebounds for West Michigan while Terry Walker had 16 points and Ralph Monday contributed 10 points and 24 rebounds.

Lou Williams, who had 14 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots, brought the crowd to his feet with a two-handed dunk near the end of the game that broke the rim.

The Lake Hawks will return to action March 5th and 6th with home games at Muskegon High School, starting at 7 p.m.
