Blackhawks 5, Red Wings 2 – The Chicago Blackhawks cruised to a victory over the Red Wings on Wednesday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Blackhawks were led by Artemi Panarin with two goals while Patrick Kane and Brent Seabrook each added a goal and two assists.

Former Blackhawk Brad Richards scored a power play goal for Detroit, while Gustav Nyquist added a tally.

The Red Wings are now 32-21-11 on the season, good for 75 points and fourth place in the Atlantic Division. They are six points ahead of Philadelphia for the final playoff spot.

Detroit will travel to play the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.

Spurs 97, Pistons 81 – The San Antonio Spurs snapped the Pistons four-game winning streak with a victory on Wednesday night.

Detroit trailed 28-26 after the first quarter, were down 52-51 at halftime and were at a disadvantage of 79-65 after three quarters.

The Spurs were led by Kawhi Leonard with 27 points while LaMarcus Aldridge added 23 points and 10 rebounds.

Marcus Morris and Tobias Harris paced the Pistons with 16 points apiece, while Aron Baynes added 12 points off the bench.

The Pistons are now 31-30 on the season, good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference. They are a half-game ahead of Washington and Chicago for the last playoff spot.

Detroit will continue its road trip against the New York Knicks on Saturday night.
