The Jayhawks jumped out to 22-6 lead nine minutes into the contest, led 42-32 at halftime and blew the contest open in the second half.

“I was really frustrated at them at halftime despite being up 10 points,” said MCC Coach Dave Schlump. “I thought we lost some focus and allowed them to claw back into the game during the last ten minutes of the first half. But I got into them a little bit at halftime about that focus, and like a veteran team does this time of year, they responded.

“I’m very proud of our execution by all in the second half and our sophomore leadership.”

Eddie Tornes paced the Jayhawks with 34 points and 15 rebounds.  Marcus Tumblin added 28 points and 13 rebounds and Aaron Sydnor chipped in with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
