The Muskegon Community College softball team swept a doubleheader from Glen Oaks Community College, 12-2 and 9-0, on Saturday in Centreville.

The Jayhawks improved to 18-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

MCC took control of Game 1 by scoring eight runs in the first three innings.

Amy Gillings had two hits and four RBI while Kayla Dutcher added two RBI.

Hendrickson and Alexis Carpenter combined to pitch the win.

In Game 2, the Jayhawks scored eight runs in the first three innings.

Alexis Melton had three hits, Gillings added a hit and three RBI while Hendrickson added a solo homer.

Pitcher Morgan Engelsman pitched a six-inning shutout for MCC, scattering four hits with eight strikeouts and no walks.
