The Shelby girls basketball team advanced to the Class C district finals on Wednesday night with a 41-34 overtime victory over host Mason County Central.
With the score 32-30 in favor of Mason County Central and only 11.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Tigers’ Jenny Beckman capped off her nine-point fourth quarter by tying the game up with two free throws.
The Tigers outscored the Mason County Central 9-2 in the overtime period.
Chloe Sillman led the Tigers in overtime with four points while McKenna Peters had three points in the extras session.
Beckman paced the Tigers with 17 points on the night, while Mason County Central was led by Dria Striker with 12 points.
The Tigers will next face Montague in the Class C district finals on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Mason County Central.
