Tigers 7, A’s 3 – The Tigers picked up the victory over the Oakland Athletics on Thursday afternoon to win the four-game series.

LSJ Logo incertOakland jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning, the Tigers responded with four runs in the bottom half of third and with three in the fourth frame.

The Tigers were led by Anthony Gose with a double, home run and two RBIs while Nick Castellanos added two doubles and an RBI. Ian Kinsler chipped in with a double and an RBI.

Detroit’s starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez picked up the win, allowing two runs on three hits while striking out nine batters in 5 2/3 innings.Eye on the D

Sanchez struggled with his command, walking seven Oakland batters. Francisco Rodriguez recorded the final out to pick up his fifth save of the season for Detroit.

The Athletics were led by Stephen Vogt with a solo home run while Khris Davis and Josh Reddick chipped in with an RBI apiece.

Detroit will go on the road for its next six games starting Friday night against the Minnesota Twins.
