The Spring Lake softball team remained unbeaten after a doubleheader sweep against Fremont, 16-0 and 15-1, in Lakes 8 Conference action on Friday.
In Game 1 the Lakers, who are now 10-0, were led by Katie Mumby, Anne Marie Galloway, Jenna Core and Addison Lindsey with two hits apiece.
Spring Lake’s Lauren Somers pitched the win, allowing two hits with striking out six batters in three innings.
In Game 2, Leah Vaughan led Spring Lake with three hits and four RBIs while Lauren Hellman and Lindsey Paggeot each chipped in with three hits.
Vaughan picked up the victory on the mound for the Lakers, who are ranked seventh in the state in Division 2, allowing two hits and striking out nine batters.
