The Whitehall baseball team swept a doubleheader from North Muskegon Tuesday, 1-0 and 3-2, in a West Michigan Conference doubleheader.

Game 1 was a pitchers’ dual that went eight innings. Casey Huizenga pitched all eight for Whitehall and struck out nine. Daniel Dubois scored the winning run on a single from Nolan Throne.

For North Muskegon, Erick Bleakley struck out 11 in seven innings and also added a triple at the plate. Alex Slocum added two hits for the Norsemen, who are 0-2.

Game 2 also came down to the wire, and Dubois again scored the winning run for Whitehall. He reached base after a Norsemen error, stole second and third base and a scored on a wild pitch.

Ben VanSumeren pitched a complete game for the Vikings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven. Throne had three hits and an RBI for Whitehall.

Ben Garcia had an RBI double for the Norsemen and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Brighton Schofield.
