Whitehall and Oakridge both came away with wins Tuesday in a West Michigan Conference baseball doubleheader.LSJ Logo incert

Whitehall won the first game 6-5 in extra innings. Erik Butzer hit a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning to give the Vikings the advantage. Tom Balaskovitz relieved starting pitcher Casey Huzenga in the eighth inning and picked up the win.

Huizenga had two hits and scored the game-winning run for Whitehall. Kolin Chahorski had three hits for Oakridge.

The Eagles turned the tables in Game 2, running away with a 15-1 victory.

Brady Luttrull got the win on the mound, allowing only one run on three hits and striking out five. Luttrull also had a big game at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and a triple and three RBIs. Logan Layman added three hits and two RBIs while Austin Byers scored three runs. Alec Milliron drove in Whitehall’s run with a third-inning double, scoring Lucas Evans.
