Kent City baseball squad challenged by Lakeview, but still unbeaten in CSAA

Scoreless through four innings, Kent City surged on the scoreboard in the late innings to down Lakeview in a Central State Activities Association contest, 8-4, on Friday. lsj-fb-logo

The Eagles remain undefeated in CSAA Silver Division play with a 15-0 record. They are 15-2 overall.

Kent City scored five runs in the fifth and three in the seventh to take command against the Wildcats. Quinn Koomen led the charge by going 3-for-4 with a triple, double and four RBIs. Colton Atwood added a hit and scored two runs, and Luke O’Keefe had a hit and RBI.

Koomen was the winning pitcher, as he pitched a complete game. He allowed eight hits, struck out eight and didn’t issue a walk.
Game 2 was called after the third inning due to rain, with Kent City leading 8-4.
