The Ludington baseball team swept Fremont, 10-6 and 8-4, in a Lakes 8 doubleheader on Monday.
In Game 1, the Orioles were paced by Austin McCarthy with two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored. Nolan Meeker and Lucas Catron added a hit and two RBIs each while Luke Middlebrook chipped in with two hits and an RBI.
Ludington’s pitcher Eric Friese picked up the opening-game win, allowing six runs on 13 hits while striking out four batters in six innings.
The Packers were led by Dylan Foster with three hits and four RBIs.
In Game 2, the Orioles were led by Nolan Meeker and Connor Tominski with two hits and two RBIs each, while Nathan Lange added two hits and two runs scored.
Garrett Meeker pitched the Game 2 victory for Ludington, allowing three earned runs on six hits while striking out six batters in seven innings.
The Packers were paced in a losing effort by Brandon Clark with three hits and two RBIs.
