Rangers 10, Tigers 5 – The Texas Rangers scored eight unanswered runs to erase a deficit and defeat the Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

LSJ Logo incertThe Tigers, who now lost five straight games, led 5-2 after five innings before allowing five runs in the sixth and two in the seventh.

The Rangers were paced by Adrian Beltre with two home runs and four RBIs, while Nomar Mazara added a double, homer and two RBIs. Rougned Odor and Mitch Moreland each chipped in with a home run.

Ian Kinsler and Nick Castellanos each knocked in two runs for the Tigers while Anthony Gose hit an RBI triple.

Detroit’s starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey, who is still looking for his first win of the season, took a no-decision. He allowed five runs on seven hits in five innings.Eye on the D

The Tigers are now 14-15 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.

Detroit will look to avoid being swept for its second straight time in a three-game set with a win against the Rangers on Sunday afternoon.
