Tigers 4, Athletics 1– Tigers’ rookie pitcher Michael Fulmer paced Detroit to a win over the Oakland A’s on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertFulmer picked up the victory tossing 7 and 2/3 scoreless innings. He allowed three hits while striking out three batters.

The Tigers were led offensively by Ian Kinsler with three hits, including a double and triple, while Nick Castellanos added a solo home run.

J.D Martinez chipped in with an RBI triple for the Tigers while Cameron Maybin had a double and an RBI.

The A’s scored their lone run on an RBI triple by Jed Lowrie, Coco Crisp added a double.Eye on the D

The Tigers are now 24-23 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.

Detroit will look to win the three-game series against the A’s with a victory on Saturday afternoon.
