Tigers 5, Rays 4– Michael Fulmer struck out a career-high 11 batters to pace the Tigers over the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday afternoon.

LSJ Logo incertFulmer pitched his third win of the season, allowing one run on four hits in seven innings.

Detroit led 1-0 after three innings, the Rays tied the game 1-1 in the sixth before the Tigers responded with four runs in the seventh.

The Rays cut their deficit to one run but failed to complete the comeback.

The Tigers were led by James McCann and J.D. Martinez with two-run homers each while Cameron Maybin chipped in with a solo home run.Eye on the D

Tampa Bay was paced by Evan Longoria with a solo home run and Brad Miller with a two-run triple.

The Tigers are now 20-22 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.

Detroit will look to win the series over the Rays with a victory on Sunday afternoon.
