Rays 7, Tigers 5– The Tampa Bay Rays snapped the Tigers four-game winning streak on Friday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Rays led 3-0 after the first inning, Detroit tied the game 3-3 in the third and Tampa Bay took a 6-3 lead in the sixth.

The Tigers cut their deficit to one-run with a tally in the sixth and seventh innings but the Rays responded with a run in the eighth.

Tampa Bay was paced by Steven Souza and Steve Pearce with a solo homer each while Kevin Kiermaier added a three-run triple.

Detroit was paced by Miguel Cabrera with two home runs and three RBIs, while Eye on the DCameron Maybin added three hits and James McCann chipped in with an RBI.

Tigers’ starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez took the loss, allowing five runs on six hits while striking out four batters in five innings.

The Tigers are now 19-22 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.

Detroit will look to even its series with the Rays with a victory on Saturday afternoon.
