Tigers 5, Nationals 4 – The Tigers snapped their seven-game losing streak with a victory over the Washington Nationals on Tuesday night.
The Tigers were paced by Nick Castellanos with a two-run homer while Victor Martinez added four hits and two runs scores.
Detroit’s starting pitcher Michael Fulmer picked up the victory, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out six batters in five innings.
Ryan Zimmerman paced the Nationals in losing effort with two home runs and three RBIs while Danny Espinosa knocked in a run.
The Tigers are now 15-17 on the season, good for a third place tie in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.
Detroit will look to win the three-game series over the Nationals with a victory on Wednesday night.
