Nationals 5, Tigers 4 – Clint Robinson’s walk-off homer paced the Washington Nationals over the Tigers on Monday night.
The Tigers, who are in a seven-game losing streak, led 2-0 lead in the first inning and 4-1 after the fifth before Washington scored the final four runs in the contest.
The Nationals were led by Daniel Murphy with a home run and three RBIs while Ben Revere chipped in with an RBI.
Nick Castellanos and J.D. Martinez paced Detroit with two-run homers each while Anthony Gose doubled.
Detroit’s starting pitcher Anibal Sanchez took a no-decision, allowing four runs on six hits in six innings.
The Tigers are now 14-17 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.
Detroit will look to get back to its winning ways Tuesday night against the Nationals.
