Tigers 7, Twins 2– A seven-run seventh inning led the Tigers to their third straight victory, defeating the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.

LSJ Logo incertThe Twins jumped out to a 2-0 lead on solo homers by Joe Mauer in the fifth inning and Miguel Sano in the sixth.

Detroit responded in the seventh inning led by Jose Iglesias with a two-run single, a two-run home run Ian Kinsler and a solo homer from J.D. Martinez.

Detroit’s starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey tossed a no decision, allowing two runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Kyle Ryan pitched the win for the Tigers, throwing 1 2/3 innings of shutout baseball.

The Tigers are now 18-21 on the season, good for fourth place in the American League Central Division behind the Chicago White Sox.

Detroit will look to sweep the Twins with a win on Wednesday afternoon.
