The Whitehall and Fruitport softball squads split a doubleheader in a non-league action on Thursday.

LSJ Logo incertThe Vikings defeated Fruitport 5-3 in the opening game, the Trojans responded with an 8-3 victory during the nightnap.

In Game 1, Melissa Shoup paced the Vikings with two hits and three RBIs.

Shoup pitched a complete game win striking out six batters for Whitehall.

The Trojans were led by Aurora Wilks, who threw six innings, while striking out seven batters and knocking in a run offensively.

In Game 2, Brooklyn Samlow and Rachel Paulsen paced Fruitport with four hits and two RBIs each.

Tori Nash pitched the win for the Trojans, striking out seven batters in 6 1/3 innings.
