The Fruitport girls soccer team defeated Allendale 2-1 in the first round of Division 2 district play on Tuesday.
After being tied 0-0 at halftime, the Trojans outscored Allendale down the stretch to stay alive in the postseason tournament.
Emily Winicki led the Trojan offensive effort with a goal and an assist on the day.
Winicki assisted on a goal from Jaydie Hanks, while Winicki’s goal was assisted by Isabelle Raven.
Goalkeeper Marissa Carmean picked up the win in net for the Trojans, stopping three Allendale shots.
Fruitport will next play district host Sparta on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the district semifinals.
