Fruitport piled up 19 runs in its opening game of a doubleheader against Lakes Eight Conference rival Orchard View on Friday and mercied the Cardinals in four innings, 19-3.lsj-fb-logo

The second game was called early with the Trojans leading 11-6 in the third.

The Trojans’ Brooklyn Samlow had four hits in the opening victory, while Tori Nash tallied three.

Alexis Jurgens paced the Trojans’ offense with three RBIs, while Aurora Wilks and Del Bennett had two apiece.

Wilks picked up the victory in the pitching circle, as she fanned five Cardinals in four innings of work.

Fruitport’s record improves to 17-10 this season.
