Mona Shores drops two softball games against Northview

The Mona Shores softball team dropped two games in its doubleheader against Grand Rapids Northview, 7-6 and 14-9, on Thursday.

In Game 1, the Sailors were paced by Mackenzie Willeke and Mackenzie Quinn with three hits each while Mackenzie Lund and Sami Sanborn each added two hits.

Mona Shores’ pitcher Megan Crane struck out five batters in the opening game.

In Game 2, Mona Shores was led by Willeke with three hits while Mackenzie Nyblade, Lund, Veronica Kastelic and Desi Parker chipped in with two hits apiece.

Parker struck out seven batters for the Sailors in the nightcap.
