Mona Shores tops Lake Orion, then falls to top ranked Saline in baseball

The Mona Shores baseball team split a pair of games at the Hudsonville tournament on Saturday.

LSJ Logo incertThe Sailors topped Lake Orion 8-3 in a 12-inning marathon and then fell to No. 1 ranked (Div. 1) Saline 12-0 in the championship.

Mona shores scored five runs in the 12th inning to top Lake Orion in Game 1. Leading at the plate was Caden Anderson with three hits and three RBIs and Tyler Trovinger who had three doubles and two RBIs.

Nick Debruin pitched 10 innings for the Sailors and allowed three earned runs while striking out nine batters. Connor Belanger picked up with win in relief.
