Spring Lake’s varsity softball squad continued its impressive unbeaten trek through its schedule, as the Lakers drilled non-conference foe Whitehall on Friday, 15-0, in a game that ended in the third inning due to the mercy rule.
Spring Lake, which is ranked No. 4 in the Division 2 state rankings, runs its perfect record to 24-0.
Sophomore Madelyn Nelson contributed with her bat and in the pitching circle for the Lakers, as she had multiple hits at the plate and shut down the Vikings’ offense. She yielded just a single hit — coming from the Vikings’ Madison Bond — while striking out four.
Katie Mumby and Lauren Somers also had multiple hits for Spring Lake.
