The West Michigan Whitecaps won their third straight game, 3-1 over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, on Friday night at Fifth Third Ballpark.LSJ Logo incert

The game drew a season-high home crowd of 5,277 fans.

West Michigan, which improved to 14-12 on ithe season, opened the scoring in the second inning on an RBI single by Cam Gibson, scoring Steven Fuentes.

The Whitecaps took a 2-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Will Allen.

Wisconsin answered with its lone run in the fifth frame with an RBI single by Luis Aviles.

West Michigan added an insurance run in the seventh with an RBI single by Rashad Brown, scoring David Gonzalez, who led off the frame with a double.

Whitecaps starting pitcher Matt Hall had a strong outing, throwing six innings of five-hit baseball.
