Tigers 5, Mariners 1 – Steven Moya had a multi-homer game to help propel the Tigers over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night.

LSJ Logo incertMoya led Detroit with three hits along with Jose Iglesias, who had a two-run double.

Miguel Cabrera also chipped in with a solo home run for the Tigers in the first inning.

Detroit led 4-0 in the after four innings, scoring one run in the first, two in the second and one in the fourth.

Detroit’s starting pitcher Michael Fulmer tossed a no-decision, allowing one run on three hits while striking out three batters in 4 1/3 innings.

Kyle Ryan picked up the win for the Tigers, pitching 1 2/3 scoreless innings while striking out three batters.

Seattle was held to three hits offensively and score its lone run on a bases loaded hit by pitch.

The Tigers are now 37-35 on the season, good for third place in the American League Central Division behind the first-place Cleveland Indians.

Detroit will look to pick up a four-game sweep of the Mariners with a win on Thursday afternoon.
