The Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame is hosting a Party in the Park in Hackley Park on Friday from 5-9 p.m. in downtown Muskegon.
Several area sports legends who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame over years will be on hand to greet the public in a designated area of the park.
Also accompanying the party will be improved food vendors, a full selection of craft beer and live music from the band Whoppee Kat.”
“For us it’s a perfect thing because the downtown is really picking up and Hackley Park is right next door to the L.C. Walker Arena, the home of our hall,” said Hall of Fame board member Tom Kendra. “This also serves as a fundraiser for us in the hopes to raise money to update and improve our exhibits and our website.”
Close to 100 volunteers will be helping with the event. but the Hall of Fame is still looking for more help. If you’d like to volunteer to help at Friday’s Party in the Park, give Tom Kendra a call at (231)563-6638.
“The more we get (to help), the better it is,” said Kendra. “Some don’t want to miss out on talking with the members who attend and we can’t have one person pouring beer for four hours.”
