The Oakridge softball team ended an outstanding season by splitting two games in a Division 2 regional tournament on Saturday.
The Eagles beat Cadillac 1-0 in the semifinal game.
Pitcher Alyssa Fessenden was dominant for the Eagles, tossing a one-hitter. She gave up a hit to the first batter she faced then cruised for the rest of the contest. She ended up with 14 strikeouts.
The lone Eagle run scored on back-to-back doubles by Alessa Buchner and Hannah Reinhold. Sophia Wiard had two hits for Oakridge.
The Eagles lost the regional championship game to Escanaba 10-6.
Escanaba took control of the contest by scoring six runs in the first inning. Reinhold had three hits for Oakridge in the game while Buchner added two.
