The West Michigan Whitecaps used late-inning rallies to top the visiting Great Lakes Loons 5-3 in front of a season high 8,010 fans on Thursday night. 
Jose Zambrano gave the Whitecaps a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second inning with a two-out RBI double. Shane Zeile followed with a two-out RBI single in the third for a 3-2 lead and Will Maddox hit a two-run single in the seventh with two outs to seal the win. 
Pitcher Beau Burrows earned his fifth win of the season for the Whitecaps, giving up two hits and two earned runs while striking out five.
Closer Gerson Moreno garnered his tenth save of the year, striking out the side in the ninth inning.
Madox led West Michigan at the plate with three RBIs and Derek Hill posted three hits, three runs and a stolen base.
The Whitecaps welcome the Lansing Lugnuts to Fifth Third Ballpark for the first time this season for a three-game series starting tonight at 7 p.m.
