Lansing took an early 2-0 lead in the first inning when cleanup hitter Juan Kelly hit a two-run home run.

Andrew Guillotte was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the second inning, forcing a run in to extend the Lansing lead to 3-0.

The Lugnuts added three insurance runs in the sixth inning to put the game away.

Arvicent Perez led all Whitecaps hitters with three hits while Brett Pirtle and Will Maddox each had two.

West Michigan will look to end its losing streak on Sunday at 2 p.m. when they close out the road series against the Lansing Lugnuts.
