Matt Hall’s dominating pitching performance paced the West Michigan Whitecaps to a 3-0 win over the Great Lakes Loons on Wednesday night.

LSJ Logo incertHall pitched his sixth win of the season, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing three hits and striking out six batters.

The Whitecaps, who won their eighth straight game, improved to 30-19 on the season which is good for a first place tie with South Bend in the Midwest League’s Eastern Division.

The Whitecaps added a run in the third inning on an RBI double by David Gonzalez that scored Derek Hill.

Jose Azocar added an insurance run in the seventh inning stealing home.

Gerson Moreno picked up his eighth save of the season for West Michigan, striking out two batters in the ninth inning.
