The Muskegon Clippers closed out pool play competition at the National Amateur Baseball Federation in Toledo, Ohio with an 8-3 loss to the Toledo Hawks on Friday morning.

LSJ Logo incertThe Clippers finished with a 2-1 opening round record and have qualified to the quarterfinals where they will play the Blaze Black at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at the University of Toledo.

“Our pool competition was very good,” said Clippers Manager Walk Gawkowski. “I do not feel bad about going 2-1 because we played three very good teams.”clippers

The Clippers were held to six hits offensively against the Hawks.

Jacob Buchberger paced Muskegon with three singles while Ryan Mergener and Tyler Trovinger each added a double.
