Kane County scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 2-1.

West Michigan extended the lead to 3-1 in the fifth when Derek Hill scored on a Maddox sacrifice fly to center field.

The Whitecaps added insurance runs in the seventh and ninth inning before walking off the field victorious for the second time in two days in Kane County.

Brown paced the Whitecap offense with two hits and two runs while Hill, Maddox, and Azocar each added two hits.

Whitecap starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo picked up his second win of the season while pitching five and one third innings, allowing one run on six hits and striking out four.

West Michigan will look to sweep the three game series with Kane County on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
