Whitecaps get a victory on Sunday, drop a 12-inning affair on Monday to Lake County

Also on Sunday, Derek Hill paced all Whitecap hitters with two hits, a run scored, and his Midwest League high 33rd stolen base. Jose Azocar added an RBI single for West Michigan while Arvicent Perez had a sacrifice fly RBI.

On Monday, the Whitecaps faced a 1-0 deficit before Cam Gibson scored in the sixth inning on a wild pitch to tie the game.

The game remained tied until the top of the 12th inning when Lake County jumped ahead 2-1 and held on for the victory.

Hill and Will Allen paced the West Michigan offense with two hits apiece

The Whitecaps will wrap up the four game series with Lake County at 7 p.m. Tuesday night.
