Mona Shores varsity tennis team improved to 3-0-1 in O-K Black Conference play by defeating a shorthanded Kenowa Hills squad on Wednesday, 8-0.
Sophomore Andrew Swirczek capped the night with a solid 6-2, 6-4 win over Kenowa senior Ryan TenBrink at No. 1 singles. All other flights were won handily by the Sailors.
In other singles action, Casey Walukonis won at No. 2 (6-2, 6-2); Nick Davis breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3. Mona Shores won by default at No. 4.
The Knights could only field two doubles squads and Mona Shores won easily in both flights. Nick DeBruin and Koby Gossett won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1; and Zach Davis and Connor Belanger scored a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2.
