Three area high school football teams are ranked in the Michigan Associated Press state polls heading into Week 6 of the season.
The Muskegon Big Reds are ranked No. 1 in the state in Division 3 with all five first-place votes. Muskegon Catholic is ranked No. 1 in Division 8, getting all five first-place votes.
In Division 5, Montague is ranked seventh in the state after defeating rival Whitehall 41-20 last Friday. Whitehall fell out of the top 10 in Division 4 but still received one vote, good for honorable mention status.
