Lions 20, Redskins 17 – Anquan Boldin’s 18-yard touchdown reception with 16 seconds left in regulation propelled the Lions to their third straight win on Sunday afternoon.

LSJ Logo incertLions quarterback Matthew Stafford paced Detroit with 266 passing yards on 18 completions and one touchdown, while Marvin Jones caught four passes for 94 yards.

Detroit was led defensively by Tahir Whitehead with 12 tackles and kicker Matt Prater nailed two-of-three field goals.

The game was scoreless after the first quarter.

The Lions took a 10-3 advantage after the third quarter after a one-yard score by running back Zach Zenner.

Detroit increased its lead with a 27-yard field goal by Prater with 13:10 left in the fourth quarter.

The Redskins responded with 14 unanswered points on a one-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins to Robert Kelley and a 19-yard run by Cousins to give Washington a 17-13 lead with 1:05 left in regulation.

The Lions marched 75 yards down the field in six plays, resulting in Bolden’s game-winning score with 16 seconds left.

Detroit will head to Houston to play the Texans next Sunday afternoon.
