Bruins 1, Red Wings 0 – The Boston Bruins snapped the Red Wings six-game winning streak with a shutout win over Detroit on Saturday night.
Tim Schaller scored the lone goal of the game for the Bruins at the 17:11 mark of the second period.
Boston outshot the Red Wings by a 36-24 margin.
Detroit’s goaltender Jimmy Howard stopped 35 of 36 shots in a losing effort.
The Red Wings, who are now 6-3 on the season, remain in second place in the Atlantic Division standings.
Detroit will look to bounce back Sunday at home against the Florida Panthers.
