Red Wings 4, Hurricanes 2 – The Red Wings increased their winning streak to five games with a victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.

LSJ Logo incertDetroit jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period with a goal from Thomas Vanek and two by Dylan Larkin.

The Hurricanes cut their deficit to 3-2 in the second period on a goals from Jordan Staal and Victor Rask.

The Red Wings responded with a goal at the 17:04 mark of the second period on a goal from Andreas Athanasiou.

Athanasiou also picked up an assist in the game, while Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek picked up the win allowing two goals on 31 shots.Eye on the D

Detroit, which is now 5-2 on the season, will look to continue its winning streak on Thursday night on the road against the St. Louis Blues.
