Red Wings 4, Hurricanes 2 – The Red Wings increased their winning streak to five games with a victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night.
Detroit jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period with a goal from Thomas Vanek and two by Dylan Larkin.
The Hurricanes cut their deficit to 3-2 in the second period on a goals from Jordan Staal and Victor Rask.
The Red Wings responded with a goal at the 17:04 mark of the second period on a goal from Andreas Athanasiou.
Athanasiou also picked up an assist in the game, while Detroit goaltender Petr Mrazek picked up the win allowing two goals on 31 shots.
Detroit, which is now 5-2 on the season, will look to continue its winning streak on Thursday night on the road against the St. Louis Blues.
