Raptors 109, Pistons 91 – The Pistons failed to stop Toronto’s star DeMar DeRozan who paced the Raptors with 40 points in their opening season win over Detroit on Wednesday night.
Toronto jumped out a 33-23 after the first quarter, led 58-46 at halftime and had an 86-71 advantage after three quarters.
Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 32 points and 11 rebounds for the Raptors.
The Pistons were led in a losing effort by Tobias Harris with a team-high 22 points.
Marcus Morris added 17 points and nine rebounds for Detroit and all-star Andre Drummond had 16 points.
Detroit will look to bounce back with a win on its home opener on Friday against the Orlando Magic.
