Muskegon High School grad Deyonta Davis opened his NBA careerLSJ Logo incert on Wednesday by coming off the bench and playing six minutes with the Memphis Grizzlies in their season opener.

The Grizzlies defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 102-98.

Davis, who left Michigan State University after one season to enter the NBA draft, checked into the game with 4:11 left in the first quarter.

He played six minutes and didn’t score, but registered two rebounds and a blocked shot.

Davis missed most of the preseason with an injury, but competed in the final preseason game, scoring five points with five rebounds and two blocks in 12 minutes of action.
