The Fruitport soccer team opened Division 2 districts with a 5-0 shutout win over Sparta on Monday night.
Logan Fielding led the way for the Trojans with three goals while Zack Shane added two.
Shane and Eli VerMerris each recorded an assist for Fruitport.
Jonah Krueger, Kaleb Kreuger, Ean Widmayer and Caley Yager each played solid defense for the Trojans, contributing to the shutout win.
Fruitport’s goalkeeper Connor Werschem stopped all seven Sparta shots.
The Trojans will face O-K Black Conference rival Reeths-Puffer on Wednesday at Coopersville in a Division 2 district semifinal game.
